Inquest Reveals Tragic Details of Manchester Synagogue Attack
An inquest reveals the tragic details of a Manchester synagogue attack, where two worshippers lost their lives during a terrorist assault.
crypto market The inquest into the tragic events at a Manchester synagogue during Yom Kippur has unveiled harrowing details surrounding the deaths of two worshippers. Adrian Daulby, aged 53, succumbed to a single police gunshot wound as he heroically resisted a terrorist assault on the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation on October 2. Melvin Cravitz, 66, also tragically lost his life due to multiple stab wounds inflicted by the assailant, Jihad al-Shamie.
The attack unfolded in Crumpsall, Manchester, as worshippers gathered to observe the holiest day in the Jewish religious calendar. The inquest revealed that at approximately 9:30 AM, Shamie, a UK citizen originally from Syria, initiated his assault by driving his Kia Picanto aggressively towards security personnel and the synagogue's gates.
Upon exiting his vehicle, Shamie launched a knife attack on Cravitz, delivering fatal wounds. Witnesses recounted that Daulby sprang into action, attempting to secure the synagogue doors against the intruder. Ch Supt Lewis Hughes from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) testified that two armed officers arrived on the scene in response to the chaos. He stated, "On arrival at the synagogue, officers discharged several rounds at the suspected terrorist Jihad al-Shamie as he ran towards them aggressively while carrying a knife and wearing what presented as a suicide vest."

He was reportedly holding the doors shut for about two minutes while Shamie attempted to force his way inside. The police response was swift; however, Daulby was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:15 AM. A Home Office postmortem examination later confirmed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.
Turning to the second victim, Cravitz suffered a brutal knife attack as Shamie exited his vehicle armed with a knife. Hughes described the assault, noting that Shamie made "immediate stabbing motions to Cravitz's upper torso, head and neck area." Efforts to save Cravitz were initiated by members of the public and the Community Security Trust (CST), who provided first aid, trauma care, and CPR. Despite being transported to Manchester Royal Infirmary, Cravitz could not be saved and was pronounced dead at 10:45 AM.

The inquest into the Manchester synagogue attack serves as a poignant reminder of the dangers faced by communities and the bravery of individuals like Adrian Daulby, who put themselves in harm's way to protect others. As investigations continue, the impact of this tragic event will resonate within the community as they seek to heal and honor the memories of those lost.
